UA Local Union No. 21 - About Us

Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 21 has been serving Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess and Ulster Counties for over one hundred years, making sure that the plumbing and heating needs of many are met.

In the early years of the union’s development, it was comprised of seven local unions covering four counties and known by several different and individual numerical titles. Through the natural progression of time, these locals came together to form what is currently known as Local 21 -Plumbers/Steamfitters/HVACR Service of Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess and Ulster Counties, NY. Our memberships totals over 1500. With such a vast territory to encompass, the needs are very diverse. Our union provides five years of apprenticeship training. It covers all aspects of the industry which includes residential, commercial and industrial piping, as well as HVAC and plumbing service.

Local 21’s office is located in Peekskill which is centrally located to our jurisdictional area. We are housed at one of five national regional training centers for our International, the United Association, at the former McKinley Street Elementary school.

Our members are highly skilled and trained professionals who perform their duties under some of the harshest working conditions. They strive to achieve the highest quality of installation.

Local 21 provides the community with good paying jobs while protecting the standard of living and the health of the many constituents within its jurisdiction. We are grateful to be a part of the many communities we serve.
